Hawaii Department of Health Awards HMS a Contract to Conduct On-site Surveys of Medicare-eligible Health Care Facilities

HMS Supports the State’s Ongoing Commitment to Protect Vulnerable Populations

(Fairmont, West Virginia – September 29, 2020) The Hawaii Department of Health has awarded Healthcare Management Solutions, LLC (HMS) a multi-year contract to conduct federal initial certification and recertification surveys, follow-up revisit surveys, and complaint investigations at Medicare-eligible health care facilities as requested by the Office of Health Care Assurance in accordance with established federal regulations and standards. These facilities may include; 

  • Hospitals
  • Skilled nursing facilities,
  • Ambulatory surgical centers, 
  • End-stage renal disease facilities
  • Hospices, and
  • Home health agencies.

Initial certification and recertification surveys include health care surveys, life safety code surveys, and emergency preparedness surveys as well.
